The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR)

Former Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations

On 18 September 2013 the Department of Education and the Department of Employment was created out of the former Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations. The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) supports families and children by assisting with the cost of childcare (Child Care Benefit), by providing policy advice, research and service management related to providing children’s services, and helping services provide quality care under the Child Care Support Program.
