1. CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care prepares students for the role of educator in a range of early childhood education settings, operating under the national and state legislative guidelines and regulations provided for education and care services. Educators support the implementation of an approved learning framework to facilitate children’s wellbeing, learning and development.
The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care is a nationally recognised qualification from the Community Services Training Package. It is for those who wish to commence a career in the early childhood sector and those already working within the sector who wish to gain qualifications in the field. Employment opportunities for those attaining Certificate III in Early Education & Care include Child Care Educator, Family Day Care Educator, Nanny or In Home Care Educator. PEAK training offers this course via correspondence. It is also available in metropolitan, regional and remote NSW in a classroom setting provided there are from10 students wishing to complete the course via face-to-face classroom delivery in a given region. There are 18 units in the Certificate III program. Students are provided with a timetable to follow with due dates to submit their assessments. The course fee covers completion of the course in up to 12 months. An extension (up to 6 months) can be requested but additional fees apply. Students will be issued with a nationally recognised Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care (CHC30113) upon successful completion of their course.

2. CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
All coordination unit staff that work directly with Family Day Care educators are required to have completed or be in the process of completing the Diploma of Children’s Services (Early Childhood Education and Care) by 2014. This course is delivered by correspondence or in a Skill Set Program of face to face sessions and correspondence work over a 24-36 month period. Many educators are also choosing to upgrade to this qualification. Some practical placements must be completed in other childcare services so that learners can experience all types of practices and management. Hours working with the children in the day to day delivery of their service will be considered and will go against some of the total hours of practicum required.

3. TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
This course is for people who wish to become Trainers and Assessors. This qualification is also recommended for coordination unit staff who train and coach educators and staff and who assess educators and their home services. There are 10 units which are delivered by correspondence mode with 2 1/2 day face to face sessions. Upgrades from the previous BSZ course will now be required. An easy update from the TAA in the form of a workshop is also offered.
