PD in your pocket is a professional development program for Family Day Care educators that lives in your pocket, in your phone, or your iPad. Choose how to engage, whenever you have the time.

‘Great spaces, Safe spaces’ resources for educators
The Great Spaces/ Safe Spaces project is funded through the Early Childhood Education Directorate, NSW Department of Education’s Sector Development project and developed by NSW Family Day Care Association.
Family Day Care Educator Toolkit
The Family Day Care Services Education and Support Project has developed a wide range of resources to ensure compliance with the law and regulations for Family Day Care educators, including a Family Day Care Educator Toolkit, available in English and 11 community languages. These free resources and more information can be found on the project’s website.
The project is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training and run by NSW Family Day Care Association.
Munch & Move Program
The NSW Health Munch & Move program provides free professional development and resources to educators to promote healthy eating, active play and appropriate screen use for children birth to 5 years.
The program website www.healthykids.nsw.gov.au houses free resources such as:
- Program training: A series of self-paced eLearning modules, comprising of videos, scenarios and reflective practice questions. The training is approx. 3 hours in length but can be completed over multiple sessions at any time.
- Fundamental Movement Skills Videos – a series of videos teaching the steps in correctly performing and teaching the 13 fundamental movement skills.
- Implementation resources – including posters, music, storybooks, healthy eating learning experiences resources, active play ideas for babies and toddlers and Fundamental Movement Skills game ideas for 3-5 year old’s and many more for educator use.
- Fact sheets on healthy eating, lunchboxes, fussy eating, screen time, sleep, oral health, active play and more to share with families. Some fact sheets are available in 9 community languages and some are designed with and for Aboriginal families.
