Who can be an educator?
Anyone can become an educator with the right training and qualifications. Educators come from a wide range of diverse backgrounds. All educators are required to comply with and work under the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations and the National Quality Standard.
Family Day Care educators are registered with an approved Family Day Care Service provider. Educators are required to have:
- a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or be working towards this)
- First Aid qualifications
- Working With Children Check
- Public liability insurance
- a home and garden that can be adapted to meet WH&S regulations and NQS standards (can be owned or rented)
- Willingness to obtain equipment and resources for education and play
